About Us
The original Café Polonia was opened in Boston's Andrew Square in 2003 and became the only restaurant in the area specializing in Polish and Eastern European cuisine. The restaurant quickly won approval from food critics and customers alike. Featured in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Stuff @ Night, Boston Magazine, Improper Bostonian, Phantom Gourmet, WHDH Channel 7 and rated by Zagat, the restaurant continues to satisfy even the most discriminating diners.
Featuring a rich menu of homemade, traditional fare, Cafe Polonia's favorites include the Polish Plate, "borsch beet soup, the Goulash delight and our famous potato and Gypsy pancakes. But no visit to Café Polonia is complete without stopping by the Baltic Deli – our sister European style delicatessen located right across the street where customers can stock up on home style cold cuts, kielbasy, babka breads as well as imported groceries and beers.
In October of 2010 Café Polonia opened its second location in the downtown of historic Salem, Massachusetts. The restaurant features an expanded menu with German, Hungarian and Eastern European specialties as well as a German style outdoor "bier garten," or beer garden.
While Café Polonia is best known for home style comfort food, the restaurant's features also include a cozy décor reminiscent of a country cottage in Poland's mountain region and superb guest service.
